The Honeywell Family Association (HFA) was established in 1994 as a forum to share family history, research family lineages and promote fellowship among Honeywell families world-wide. Most of the information we have is on Honeywells in North America who came from England in the seventeenth century, but we're looking for information on Honeywells everywhere. This family-run, not-for-profit association, is dedicated to serving the genealogical needs of the family.

Research - We have found that most Honeywells in North America are descendents of Roger or Ambrose Hunnewell, 17th Century emigrants probably from Devonshire, England. Of those relatives (Honeywell - Hunnewell and others) who have submitted family information, we have been over 95% successful in tracing their roots back to the mid-1600s. Most of the Americans who spell their name Honeywell are cousins of the founder of the giant company Honeywell, Inc., Mark Charles Honeywell. For more information on the history on Honeywell, Inc., check out the Honeywell History page.

The HFA maintains a database of North American Honeywells and some English Honeywells. We are attempting to catalog all living Honeywells (regardless of where they live) and connect them genealogically to their ancestors. HFA provides a service to answer questions about the ancestry of all Honeywells of various spellings. We are currently working with the Devon Family History Society to locate our English roots.

Membership - HFA mails to over 650 Honeywell families, most of whom are in the US or Canada. Over one hundred families are current members of the Honeywell Family Association. We would love to have you submit information or join the Honeywell Family Association. We maintain a list of Honeywell family queries in the Forum area and invite you to review them or submit your own.
